We have two parties in america. The racists, and the party that opposes them. There is no non racist.

Replace racism with sexism, homophobia, islamophobia, etc. At the end of the day, it always feels like we have an objectively bad party and the one that ONLY feels moral to vote for bc they arent the main party.

Yes, republicans are the main party in america, they call all of the shots. Republicans hate immigrants, dems oppose. Republicans attempt to load the courts with conservatives to overturn rights, the dems oppose. Democrats rarely have an original idea, they are just contrarians to whatever the republicans say.

If you do not believe me, check in with this idea in a couple months, when Trump takes an overtly pro-Israel stance, and the dems take an anti-Israel stance within 24 hours.

I need everyone to FUCKING remember this next cycle, so the democrats actually grow a spine and attempt to have an opinion, any opinion.

The overwhelming reaction was positive. Durgetash artists went on Twitter to celebrate, and the small but passionate fans of the ship went nuclear here and on Twitter, and helped BG3 trend, yada yada, tale as old as time.

Most people don't care about Durgetash or Gortash. The majority of people you hear from would be the people who like both of those things. It's also a small ship.

The haters of that ship are even smaller in comparison, because the hand that reaches out will always touch more than the hand clenched into a fist.

And the only "legitimate" complainers, who don't just dislike the ship on principle, are the whiners who keep insisting their durges are lesbians, and how dare Larian "force" them into a relationship with a man - which is literally not what Larian did.

No one bitches about how Gale's ORIGIN completely precludes him from being gay.

I see no reason why you can't similarly have Durge's ORIGIN make them attracted to men. Or, you know. Enver is special.

@lurkingshan mentions a bizarre reach that's been going around this week: It's good that Sand almost picked a fight with the cops for Ray, because ACAB.

I've already spoken about how the characters who are poor cannot afford to hang around with rich people, who are bound to fuck up, and would get away with it scot-free.

Sand's choice to run into a room where there were lines of coke on the table, and haul Ray off his coked-up ass, and walk Ray, who would definitely have coke on his person, out of that room to get him away from the cops is so stunningly dangerous. Not only because he doesn't have the bribe money to get himself out of jail, but also because he is actively committing a crime at all times, by brewing plum wine (cc @waitmyturtles). And he's not doing illegal shit to chase a high, like these rich pricks; he's doing it to make ends meet.

Staying out of the cop's radar should be his highest imperative. And he's risking it all for someone who called him a whore in front of people, treats him like a commodity at all times (@wen-kexing-apologist have several thousand words to say about this, stay tuned). Sand trying to "rescue" Ray is not romantic -- it's dangerous and infuriating and a little sad.

A lot of analysis of Ray and Sand moments leaves out the huge, foundational, overarching point that informs their story: Ray is rich and powerful, and Sand is poor and powerless. I’ve been noticing this for weeks and I find it so bizarre. And it’s not like the show has been subtle about it—Ray literally calls Sand a whore and treats him like an object that is his to pick up and put down as he pleases.

Why do people ignore it? Is it because the power dynamics of it all makes folks feel icky? Because it makes it hard to keep seeing their interactions as romantic? Because fam, that is exactly the point.

it's election day I can be a little political as a treat. if you still purchase or publicly consume or create harry potter media or content, donate to a UK based trans person and sit with your morals for a bit. Both major political parties ran a campaign stoking a culture war against trans people because of Rowlings ideology and funding. Every time you line her pockets - and that includes by consuming and creating fan content publicly, thus proliferating the enjoyment of hp (because even if you don't spend money on it, you are making it acceptable for people who do spend) - you contribute directly, personally, to British trans kids dying early. I don't care if it's important to you - I wore a ravenclaw scarf to school well into my teens, and then I found out Rowling was a terf (and all the antisemitic shit in the books) and every piece of harry potter merchandise got stuffed in a box at the back of my wardrobe. It turns out, when the author of your favourite book is best buddies with the MP of your constituency and they talk about trans people like you're dirt on the bottom of their shoes, it sours the experience a little.

Also for what it’s worth I would like to remind everyone that Travis said something strikingly similar during trumps first term (when asked about whether he’d go to Trump’s White House if they won, and he basically said yeah because its always an honor to meet the president). So I personally have already given him the benefit of the doubt once in the hope that he’d, ya know, gained some actual political awareness and grown and learnt since then! So to me this is his second offense and not something that can be brushed off as clearly his apolitical stance on the presidency and what it represents has not changed. And I find that appalling! given , obviously, everything that has fucking happened since 2020! Just ew.

I feel kind of weird making this, but a couple of my posts got some decent amount of notes so I thought I'd share

It's been a while since I've stopped actively following qsmp. Months since I've liveblogged like I used to. At first I just needed a break from the community but still watched on my own time, then I got busy with work/college, and then decided to boycott in solidarity.

After Quackity's "response", I'm leaving QSMP behind for good. I had a lot of fun and genuinely loved this project, but seeing as the creator can't differentiate hate from valid criticisms and workers' rights, I'll do as he says and leave. I encourage my fellow brazilians and french mutuals to do the same. We clearly aren't welcome anyway.

A lot of ex-egg admins (including Dapper, Pomme, and Ramón) have posted statements on Twitter, I urge all those who are unaware of the situation to read them.

If you think we're just haters who want to see the project fail, please just save us both the trouble and block me.

If you're still watching something despite knowing the people who make it special are being exploited, please go fuck yourself. Your special interest is not more important than people's rights. There are ways to still consume your interest while showing support to the workers who, after Quackity's great response, are getting harassed and threatened for speaking up.

YOU’VE BEEN THE REALEST BITCH SINCE DAY 1 AND YOU WILL CONTINUE TO BE THAT BITCH!!!!! i LOVE the idea that these two characters are already so intertwined, they know everything about each other and maybe it’s one little thing that makes the other fall in love and realize that Holy Shit… i think i love my best friend. AND THEN THE RECIPROCITY OF IT ALL??? it’s the idea that this person KNOWS you and SEES you and LOVES you for who you are, and thinks that they could see their entire life with you. it’s the intimacy & devotion & attentiveness it’s the GENUINENESS that gets me everytime :’) perks if the character gets a little jealous/protective of reader like I’M EATING IT UP!

- I ALSO LOVE HURT/COMFORT! emphasis on the hurt and the comfort like i LOVE reading about readers getting upset at the character for maybe something they said/did and then the character feeling guilty :3 just something about them thinking about what happened and seeing where they messed up… the DESIRE to fix it and make it all better… sniffles. i just love conversations too i think often times the dialogue in a fic like this is really good and same with the emotions they evoke! maybe it was an argument and now they’re sitting down and talking about it… the character comforting reader and apologizing and kissing them softly… yeah i Like that

- this changes all the time i like more tropes than i hate so hmmm anything with friends to lovers, established relationship, practically any type of au + no curses!au, smut fics, crack fluff humor fics, horror fics, & dilf fics i like :O)

- i HATE academic rivals… any ones that i’ve read have made both reader & the character such insufferable people that i’m not rooting for any of them and in fact am praying on their downfall (i hope they fail everything! failing builds character and these characters that i read have No Character or Redeemable Personalities) they’re both pretty pathetic & annoying and just aren’t likable when i read an academic rivals au fic… like why are y’all both so rude with a stick up your literal ass omfg calm down you have an A in english already why are you being so annoyingnfnfnfn 😭

- miscommunication trope can die in a DITCH i HATE that bitch!!!!! LIKE FUCK CAN Y’ALL JUST COMMUNICATE LIKE REGULAR PEOPLE INSTEAD OF BEING PURPOSEFULLY OBTUSE AND WHINING ABOUT IT??? i’ll kill both reader and the character with sticks i’m a violent person when it comes to miscommunication like… esp when it goes on for SO long, like at a certain point it truly becomes frustrating to read! miscommunication when done well can be decent — it can service the story! but when it isn’t… it’s just annoying

- this one is tricky but enemies to lovers when there’s no basis of a friendship ever happening so it makes no sense that they become lovers… like you’re telling me this character who’s been awful beyond belief was just doing all this because they had a wittle cwush they didn’t know how to articulate??? and reader falls for it??? now i have to beat everyone up like don’t do that… i think enemies to lovers is something that HAS to be written with love as an endgame in mind and those nuggets need to follow it during the story… if not, then it’s just bullying/two people hating each other and i don’t know about you, but when i hate someone i HATE them. also i hate when betrayal is involved or cheating is involved like i’m sorry but i’ll never love you again after that — i feel like some things are irredeemable and it just feels pathetic to me when a reader takes the character back. like grow a BACKBONE!

also just a personal thing for me too like i never read fics with readers who become curse users along with geto like i would never follow that dumb bitch… like what do you MEAN you’re leaving/betraying satoru to go with that idiot who got his ass BEAT by a non-sorcerer??? you’re on the losing team! could never be me! also i don’t like nanako/mimiko personally so i never read fics as them as reader’s kids… i just can’t do it i hate his little cult family so much they’re all v weak & annoying to me 😭 that’s why i always write heavenly restriction!readers, they’ll always have Power over suguru & are on gojo’s/toji’s side rather than suguru’s when it comes 2 jujutsu! so yeah :3
